448 1323 March 25, 2000 To whom it may concern RAU Animal Immobilizer I am in a large animal practice where I work with beef cattle, dairy cattle and do a bit of horse work. Since I have bought myself the RAU Animal Immobilizer, a lot of frustration of restraining a large animal has fallen away. I give a few examples of where I’ve used it in cattle: 1. If you direct the probe of the Immobilizer to one side inside the rectum, the animal lifts that back leg. Ideal for trimming back hooves. 2. Doing sheath scrapings in bulls for venereal disease testing. No more kicking when it hurts. I did approximately 70 bulls in 2 hours. 3. Normal branding, dehorning and castration of weaners goes much quicker and without animal getting hurt. 4. Restraining an animal where there is no other facilities in the area. 5. I’ve used it on dairy cattle when I had to do some procedures to the udder or teats. I’ve also used it on horses where I had to hot brand. The horse must be in a box or race where it ca lean to the side and not fall over. Care must be taken when inserting into the rectum. You can do a perfect hot brand without any smudge or kicking. The RAU Animal Immobilizer is one of the most important pieces of equipment in my practice and I can recommend it to any large animal practitioner. Dr. H Muller
